(… good intentions …)
… this website:
Being a Dixie Dregs fan for quite a long time, I have been thinking about creating a website about their music for many years. But never found the time to realize it. During all this time I was hoping that somebody else would start a similar website – but nobody did. So when I finally had a few days off in spring 2024, I took the chance to build up this website (at least “version 1.0” of it). It turned out that all the thoughts and info about the Dixie Dregs that I had piled up in my head over the years were way too many to be included, and I could prepare only a rather limited amount of content in the given time frame. But I want to add more subjects and expand this website on a regular basis, whenever I have the chance to do so.
As the title implies, this is a website about music by the Dixie Dregs. It is not a tribute site, not a biography site, not a “stuff” site. I want to keep this site clear and easy to use.
I am very interested in feedback from readers, so if you want to tell me your opinions, criticism, or any kind of Dregs-related info, please send an email (in English or German) to the address that is given on the “Legal” page. I will keep it confidentially, but might use it for further improvements of this website.
… me:
I am …
… not a professional musician. However, listening to interesting music is a passion of mine, and sometimes I wonder about the effects that music can have: On the mind, the emotions, the body.
… German. Apparently, there are not many Dixie Dregs fans in Germany (or Austria, or Switzerland) … But if you happen to be one of these, this could be another reason to contact me, if you like.
… a fan of the Dixie Dregs and have been since a friend of mine gave me his copy of the “Dregs Of The Earth” album, saying: “This is weird music. Maybe you will like it.” 😉
So I started listening to it – and almost gave up! What I heard sounded almost too weird for my ears back then. But on the other hand, it was so brilliant, so skillful, so original … that finally, I could overcome my irritations and began to actually love this music.
